The Church is PEOPLE!

The Church is Not a shiny new program, or a high energy event.  It is Not Jim Souder’s delicious donuts on Sunday morning, …or Pastor James’ order of service, …or Pastor Fletch’s polyester pants.  It is not the offertory music, small group potlucks, …and it is not the air conditioner….(but the church does include the person that keeps tampering with the church air conditioner programmer and regularly breaks it!  May God have mercy on whoever you are!)

The Church is not parking lots, youth group slip n slides, …or cheesy 1987 church bible curriculum.  The Church is NOT a sound system or even comfy chairs.

The Church is people.  People who belong to an eternal God.  People that testify to the name of Jesus and love one another, despite the atmosphere, culture, difficulties, tragedies, and enormous blessings.  We are a people who deeply matter to God so much so that He gave His only Son as a sacrifice to redeem us.  We are an eternal people not because of our qualities or qualifications, but because of who Jesus IS!

We are a church, a people called out, to be ambassadors for God.  Reconciling the world to God!  God has called us to obedience and we have accepted, in order that we are the TRUE CHURCH.  Our love is with God and our fellow man.

Ephesians 2:19-22
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
